# API Key Retrieval Procedure

## Accessing the Integrations Section

To retrieve your API key, head over to the [Settings](https://demo.jetpay.baselinepayments.com/admin/settings) page on your Jetpay dashboard.



Then, select the [Integrations](https://demo.jetpay.baselinepayments.com/admin/settings#integrations) tab from the side menu to manage your keys.

## Listing Existing API Keys

On the [Integrations](https://demo.jetpay.baselinepayments.com/admin/settings#integrations) page, you will be presented with a list of **active tokens** for your account, or an empty table if you haven't created any yet.



The **name** is assigned when you create the token. The **scope** determines what each particular token is allowed to do.



As our API offering expands, this will allow you to give access to only some parts of your data to one server while allowing for different access to another.

In the list of API tokens displayed as examples in the image above:

- The token for `mywebsite.com`is allowed to create regular transactions only;
- The token for `myotherwebsite.com` is allowed to create regular transactions and scheduled transactions.

## Creating a New API Key

To create a new token, click on the **Create Token** button on the top right. This opens a dialog.



1. Select the desired **scope** for your token, which determines what the token will be allowed to do.
2. Assign a **name** that will help you remember later on what is the purpose of your token.
3. Click **Create API Token**.

This opens another dialog that shows you the token value. Copy the token and save it securely into your application.

Be careful not to close this modal until you have saved the token value, as it will only be shown once. If you lose the token value, you will have to create a new one.
